SIBAT'S Development Consultancy (DCS) is a vital component that provides advisory services to NGO's, Peoples Organizations (POs), faith-based organizations (FBOs), multilateral agencies and even government agency partners on appropriate technology (AT) that are either paid or subsidized based from SIBAT's extensive ground experiences of AT work.



DCS serves as a lead venue for SIBAT in advancing appropriate technology work through sharing of its expertise, and ground-honed competencies to partners that are pursuing similar endeavors.

Consultancy services to poor communities are normally subsidized while certain fees are required for partner/clienteles that are able to pay the cost of services. In most cases, revenues earned from these are plowed back to subsidize small communities that don't have financial resources to cover the cost. To some extent, earnings also contribute to the institutional requirements for SIBAT to sustain its operation and AT project activities.

DCS depends primarily on SIBAT's in-house staff to deliver the services. However, SIBAT similarly engages the help of professionals or volunteers with technical work backgrounds to augment the workforce. These are professionals or volunteers desirous of making a difference or create social changes in the lives of the poor. DCS therefore becomes an avenue where they can express these pursuits.
