Vision, Mission,
Goals and Core Values
Today,
SIBAT continues to envision a just and sovereign
society that upholds genuine development through people-based science
& technology development framework. SIBAT’s mission
remains as the promotion, popularization and application of sustainable
agriculture and appropriate technology for the socio-economic upliftment
of rural and urban poor communities in the Philippines.
Goals
In SIBAT’s
strategic plan for 2003-2012, SIBAT aspires to help build and promote
appropriate levels of village
level sustainable development
and advocate
for a national and pro-people economic agenda,
upheld in practice by organized communities and working side by
side with NGO-PO networks and organisations.
As an
organization providing appropriate technology services to its local
partner communities, people’s organizations, non-government
organizations and church-based organizations, SIBAT’s nature
of operations is characterized by a multi-disciplinary team in science
and technology specialists utilizing participatory methodologies
in program/project cycle processes and development; community-based
project implementation; and promotion of socio-economic development
through grassroots initiatives by developing, disseminating and
improving the application of science & technology/appropriate
technology in rural and urban poor communities.
